The image-making on this work includes elements of hand printmaking, direct painting on fabric, and quilting construction. It was created as a whole-cloth textile work. Creating this work was an experience in mixing together printmaking and painting techniques. Hand-cut stenciled layers for the pods. Screen printed tree limbs. Relief printed small circles and direct painted large circles. Monotype printed roots. All of these went together to create a deep and complex environment for the two birds, who were directly painted into the stitched construction.

The quilt includes a hanging rod and D-ring on the back in an attached pocket. It installs easily, hanging from a single nail or picture hook.
