I created this work in the fall of 2024, in the weeks leading up to and following our Presidential election. It was a time of stress and turmoil for me.

The daily practice of artmaking was a way to stay sane and focused. I was drawn to images that are harmonious and pleasing. I combined photographic images of water and trees with original printed fabrics filled with more variations of the tree and water motifs.

A visual metaphor for the longings of my soul: unlike things that go together, creating a place of peacefulness that invites contemplation.

The image-making in this work includes hand printmaking, direct painting on fabric and quilting construction. All image-making is with acrylic paint.

The quilt includes a hanging rod and D-ring on the back in an attached pocket. It installs easily, hanging from a single nail or picture hook.

This work has been juried for exhibit at Florida CraftArt members Show February 1 - March 20, 2025. It may be purchased here, with delivery at the completion of the FCA show.
